About Me
I am a live art mongrel making performance and immersive installation in Bristol. I am an Arnolfini Associate Artist and regularly show work with the gallery. I have worked as a guest performer with the Pacitti Company (London) and with La Pocha Nostra (Residency and Performance). I was artist in residence at Tactile Bosch with Paul Hurley in the summer of 2006 and have shown internationally in Berlin (2006), the USA (2007) and Budapest (2008)
I am currently undertaking postgraduate study in Bristol with the intent of continuing my practice alongside working in teaching and writing from live art.
My recent work investigates the notion of ‘Performing Intimacy’ and what it means to be ‘In the Moment’ in relation to live art and performance. Through a series of (auto) ethnographic explorations I have sought to explore the conditions conducive to intimacy and the potential within live art for the manufacture of ‘moments’ between strangers. Inherent within the research there are unavoidable questions of gender, sexuality and identity which inform and in some ways limit the live encounters I create.
The encounters I create inform my postgraduate work which will result in a written dissertation and performative presentation/installation of my research.
